What We Do

The Sitton PTA supports teachers and staff, families, and the community

The Sitton PTA shares the mission and values of the National PTA, including promoting child welfare in various settings, improving home life standards, advocating for beneficial laws for children's education and health, fostering collaboration between families and educators, uniting the public for the well-being of children, and ensuring responsible use of public education funding.

How we work with teachers and staff

  • We support staff through classroom grants, act as a communication bridge from school to families, and facilitate committees that improve and beautify the school

  • We show our appreciation by having many events that provide teachers and staff space to relax and cultivate culture building, including dedicating an entire week each year to celebrate what they do for our students and community

  • We volunteer our time to improve school facilities and help fund school materials and supplies that fall outside of yearly budget cycles

How we work with families

  • We act as a communication bridge between teachers/staff and families

  • We provide support to families in need through volunteerism. For example, we manage and keep up the resource closet and free library

  • We collaborate with other support organizations such as Pier Park Mutual Aid and Oregon Community Foundation

How we support the community

  • We act as advocates for the entire Sitton community; Teachers, Staff, Students, Families, and Neighborhood

  • We volunteer at community events

  • We facilitate groundskeeping
